Helping children to reach their full potential with expert physiotherapy assessment, handling and care

About Us

Who are we?

SO Children's Physiotherapy is an independent private children's physiotherapy practice. We specialise in treating children with more complex neuromuscular problems. We strongly believe that each child is an individual and their care should reflect that. The child or young person is always at the centre of the team. By using this approach we get great results and engagement, not just from the child but from all members of the family and carers around that child.

How We Can Help You

We specialise in using a holistic approach to our therapy and feel its very important to integrate activities into every day life to help a child or young person fulfil their potential. We use a multifaceted approach which includes hands on therapy, activity programmes, advice and support to families/carers, assistance with training requirements and if appropriate support with specialist equipment. Using this cohesive attitude to therapy helps the child maximise their potential benefits while working with us and further into their future.

The Therapists

Sarah Orme

I graduated from Manchester University in 2004 as a Physiotherapist and spent many successful years working in the NHS at a senior level. Over 20 years of experience, 18 of which specialising in paediatrics, has provided me with invaluable insight and the drive to forge a successful career.

My experience has been diverse and immensely satisfying and I believe it is essential to adopt a flexible approach in a career that brings new challenges on a daily basis. I have a particular interest in  neurological conditions  and have a strong working knowledge of children with highly complex needs. I pride myself on being able to motivate the children and young people I work with, forging good relationships with the families and support teams to ensure we are all working towards the same goals.

In addition to my work I am also a very proud Mum of 2 girls. Being a parent has helped me to empathise with families on a deeper level and appreciate the importance of communication while working within any team. The child or young person should always be at the centre to help ensure their needs are best met.

I am extremely proud to have started SO Children's Physiotherapy, working with likeminded people who all agree that it is a privilege to be a part of a young person’s life and help unlock their full potential.
